If I disconnect the battery will  I lose the radio settings,it is a Sony and I have not got a re-set code.

    im not sure about the sony radio, but when i changed my battery in my 2013 fiesta, the car kept all of the SYNC related settings

    I’m sure the mk7 and 7.5 don’t require a code - we’ve 2 in my house both have been disconnected several times and didn’t require codes

    thats probably also because the radio is coded to the BCM on mk7 and 7.5
