Ford Fiesta MK8 St-Line tailpipe

Featured Replies

I decided to make my own silencer tail pipe using 304 stainless. I work for a company that supplies race car exhausts to the motorsport industry. I was planning to use Titanium but we didn't have suitable size tube in stock.

I removed the original tail pipe by grinding the two MIG welds on the sides of it.

It is 78mm outside diameter compared to 70mm outside diameter on the original. I didn't want it to look too obvious, more subtle.

Made up of three pieces of 3" tube and expanded over each other. The step down inside fits over the original silencer exit tube with an interference fit.

I blended the slash cut edge after welding to create a smooth radius. I laser etched the company logo on the top edge.
