Reversing sencor

Featured Replies

Hi

I have just bought a ford mondeo estate 2.0tdci edge.

It has a tow bar and factory fitted reversing sensors which don't work ? There isn't a button on my dash for this model ,my question is how do I turn them on ,thanks

They should activate automatically when you select reverse gear. Having said that, my car has a button (marked P + an arrow) which de-activates them. Don't know why you haven't got that button. Maybe it's a later, replacement bumper and the sensors are just not connected. Whoever bought the Edge new (one of the lower specs, I think?) may not have specified parking sensors.

Might be worth checking behind the bumper that the sensors are actually connected (mirror or by feel).

If you have a towbar, then reversing sensors are normally disabled if towing.  So there should be a switch somewhere.....

Do you know where the control box is ?
