Mileage remaining chime

Featured Replies

Afternoon, we keep getting a mileage remaining chime and display coming up, it's a 2018 automatic ford fiesta, even though there is 385 miles remaining, can this be turned of as it is very annoying, your help would be much appreciated, and it's a UK fiesta

It needs to be working correctly. It's also very annoying when you run out of fuel and that's the first you know about it! Are you saying the trip computer says 385 miles left and the alarm something different, or are they the same? What exactly does the message say, and has it ever worked correctly? I get the message from 50 miles left  and the message includes the miles left at that moment.

Hi, the trip computer keeps telling us the mileage left until empty, chimes and the display is only on the screen for a second, my wife is driving, so I am constantly staring at the trip screen waiting for it to appear, then read it bit by bit, it's annoying as the full is not low, and the chime is about every 45 to 50 seconds.

Has it ever worked correctly, and if you can't read the message, what makes you think the chimes are anything to do with low fuel? I'm not even sure that's the problem you are describing?

Can this be turned off

If it's the low fuel warning, no. There are at least 4 indications as to how much fuel is left - the fuel guage, the miles left on the trip computer, a message telling you to fill up soon so many miles left, an orange fuel pump indication near the fuel guage. When you say you have three quarters of a tank, what are each of these saying? Is the orange indicator on for low fuel? Without any further info, difficult to advise, but your car might still be under warranty so perhaps get it booked in? I often get this type of repeating chimes when the car detects a passenger without the seat belt on. It happens on the seat where I have the child seat fitted. But when I reach the last 50 miles of fuel the message and chimes come on as soon as I start the car, but remain on until I clear it manually (press ok). The orange fuel pump indication comes on and stays on until I fill up.

Don't forget to let us all know what the problem was, if they found it that is. Someone else having a similar problem so would be useful information.
