Fuse problem 15A engine Ford Transit MK5 1998

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with my Ford Transit MK5 1998 motor 2.0 l DOHC :

When we start driving the motor starts fine and we are able to drive for about 15 minutes but then the 15A fuse situated in the engine near the battery (see picture) blows and the motor stops working and we have to change the fuse to be able to drive again. We drive again with a new fuse and the same problem comes back. We tried looking on the owner's guide manual what that fuse's purpose is but couldn't fine any information, and on internet either.

We also have many quick lack of power in the motor while driving, the motor starts vibrating a little bit and loosing some power but then it starts working fine again.

Do any of you have an idea with what the problem could be? Or what this fuse is used for?

Thank you 😏👉

Hi Dan62, thanks for the diagram it's very helpful! Do you think it's a problem with the fuel pump? Or the fuel filter? Because I don't know the last time it was changed

Good thought re filter, cheap and easier to replace as first option.
