2020 Focus Ecoblue's engine oil consumption 1,5lt

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone,

First of all i hope all of you have good health and prosperity!

I would like to ask a question to the 2020 FORD FOCUS ECOBLUE  1.500CC owners.

Do you have any engine's oil consumption?

Mine which i bought new, have burn at least 300 grs. engine's oil. (I only have 2.200 kms to the odometer).

My objection to the oil consumption is that i  am still breaking in the engine so i am doing a careful driving. Specifically l am not "pushing" the engine and i am reving to 2.300 rpm max to gear changes.I am pushing the gas pedal like i have an egg on it so i am handling with care my car to its braking in.

Why do i have oil consumption?

Does anyone with the same car have the same problem?

Thanks in advance for your answers!!!

I hope we all have a beautiful Saturday with a lot of health.

P.S. Greetings from sunny Athens/Greece!!!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 300grs?

I meant 300ml of lubricant oil. (I apologize for my poor english if you don't understand something just say it straight 🙂 )

My oil measure stick shows lower than max 3 stripes

Oil stick measures engine's oil by little stripes from max to min which are  14. Every stripe refers to 125 ml oil. Ford's Service Book writes that from min to max the stick measures 1750 ml of oil. That is the oil quantity from min to max of the stick measurement. My engine's oil capacity according to the book is 6.200ml with the change of oil filter.

So, my oil level to the stick is 3 lines below max (3x125=375ml)

My oil life indicator writes 92% of oil life.

I am trying to understand what i am doing wrong or the car is an oil burner from factory's material inexpediency.

Thanks for the reply!
