White smoke/leaky rocker cover? MK6 fiesta 1.6 petrol (prefacelift)

Featured Replies

Hi, apologies if this topic is in the wrong place, ive recently bought a petrol 1.6 mk6 fiesta zetec S, bit smokey  through exhaust (white) thought it would benefit from a service, done spark plugs, oil filter, oil change. Still smokey on idle/ worse on acceleration, only a few minutes after start up.

Read somewhere that water leaks into the rocker cover and welsh/core plugs get damaged but after checking, they seem ok, found a hole that doesnt seem to do anything but hold water.

Pictures attached, hope someone can help and it isnt going to be an expensive fit

also must note the car only has driven 35 miles (driving it home after purchase) it has been sat for around 2/3 weeks since...

That core plug most likely leaks when hot and under pressure.

Cheers Tom.

Might be worth replacing, do you know where the water would originally be coming from? Cant be normal can it

The water comes from under the core plug itself.  They plug the casting holes in the water jacket.
