S-Max/Galaxy recall notice

Featured Replies

My FordPass app has just informed me of a recall notice for S-Max and Galaxy models from 2015 to 2020 - 20S75 - Rear Toe Link Bolts. The bolts suffer from excessive corrosion and must be replaced with non-corroding ones. I phoned my local Ford dealer and they confirmed the recall and I have booked mine in, just a 30 minute job, presuming the existing bolts are not too heavily corroded. It would be worth checking your VIN/VRM on the Ford etis site.

I’ve just booked mine in for the same, they’re telling me they need it all day. 🤣

I said if you do replace the rear bolts, will you realign it. Apparently they don’t.

Alignment not required as the adjustment bolt isn't the one affected. The one to replace is a straight forward bolt through arm .

I took my Galaxy 2016 2.0 Duratorq to get this recall done and they also did a battery connector recall and some software update for 'de-sulphurisation'.

After  getting it back I seem to be getting lower mpg. Before the software update I was getting 37mpg average according to the trip computer but now it shows around 34mpg on the same route to work. Car does feel a bit better at lower rpm but not to happy with the mpg drop. It may be a difference in how the trip computer calculates mpg but hoping it will improve over time.

I found the MPG very disappointing to be honest. My mk3 around town was managing 46/47 mpg. Long run 55/60mpg Like you, I’m only getting 38mpg on the mpg. I’d be interested to see if anyone has had theirs remapped.

Had mine done, less than 500 miles later, outer third of near side rear tyre is bald.
be warned, seems it might mess with alignment.

Had service at same time, and tyres were ok, so definitely something amiss. No doubt this will be a battle to get properly sorted.

Already had this issue where they removed the rear axle under warranty to replace some air con pipes, and wore tyres out just after……
