Son bought a new car; gave hubby his Ford Fiesta. Ran fine. Got in today went to back up. Came across: hill climb mode not available. Brakes acted as though they were locked. He put it in park; turned car off. Now won’t even turn over. Any suggestions on what to look at?

this may seem obvious, but check the battery hasn't gone flat, also what warning lights come up on the dash?

battery if fairly new and checked. Lights that came on were the wrench, check engine, wheel lock, anti theft and when he checked code it said 101

do you have the ability to read live data off the car, if so can you read what the MAF is telling the ECU while trying to crank?

It won’t crank; it won’t do anything

Is that the only code he read, because a P0101 shouldn't cause a no crank?

Yes, I believe so. He’s so frustrated he can’t figure it out

are you sure there isn't any other codes aside from those two codes, as those two codes still wouldn't stop it from cranking, because p0101 is a MAF code, p0402 is an EGR related code
