Faulty rear indicators

I have a 2005 focus ti.. Both rear indicators(not at the same time) will stop working now and again. The flasher on the dashboard will blink fast. I temporarily fix it by removing light cluster and give the connections to the indicator a wiggle. Any suggestions on a permanent fix will be appreciated.. T. I. A
