Cruise control not working

Hi folks, can anyone help with my cruise control problem? I've recently bought a 2017 galaxy with the normal cruise control(not the adaptive one) and it doesn't seem to be working. The limiter works fine but when I select cruise control the display with the speedo icon is kind of greyed out. I know the buttons work on the steering wheel because they are the same ones thats used for the speed limiting function.

    I dont know if it matters or not but the car was adapted for mobility by the previous owner.
