Clem_Kos
Hello, I'm the proud owner of a '98 Fiesta Elance (french Ghia X) with the 1.25 and a CVT automatic gearbox. I'm looking to swap the defunct overheated engine the car was sold with. I've contacted several scrapyards they affirms I absolutely need to check my engine code and it need to match my VIN, in my case it's DHA. I was wondering what the differences between DHA, DHB, DHC... to DHG? Also, may I eventually use an engine previously matted to a manual transmission for my automatic CVT car? I guess not. If so is it possible to recycle part from my old engine with the CVT part on it to put them on my replacement powertrain? What about engine mounts with the gearbox? If I end up buying an engine from the UK should I expect incompatibility issues whit it being a RHD when my car from France is a LHD? With all those sorted up may I have some difficulties about the fuel pump and the anti theft system clashing between the old and replacement engine? Thanks in advance for the precious advices you could share here.

Don't know sorry, some googling may help 20 hours ago, Clem_Kos said: Also, may I eventually use an engine previously matted to a manual transmission for my automatic CVT car? I guess not. Anything is possible with research, the 1.4 and 1.6 versions should bolt straight in. I would say so, yes. Just swap the unique CVT related parts from your engine on to the donor engine (Flywheel, Starter Motor, Throttle body etc.) 20 hours ago, Clem_Kos said: If I end up buying an engine from the UK should I expect incompatibility issues whit it being a RHD when my car from France is a LHD? Again, use the parts from your old engine and it will be OK
