Fiesta 2009 MK7 - Alarm goes off periodically - annoying the neighbours

Featured Replies

I expect this is as a result of faulty or dirty locks which I hope to solve eventually but, because it is annoying my neighbours, I would like to stop the alarm going off.
My question is - if I completely remove the main battery will that mean the alarm will never go off again ?
Thanking you in anticipation.

Chance are it's the bonnet catch, I've had this on a couple of cars fiesta the missus car and my mondeos I just joined the two alarm wires together so that it thinks the bonnet switch is allways on.

or you could replace the switch so you still have the bonnet open notification functionality

Do you get any intermittent "Door Open", "Bonnet Open" or "Boot Open" alarms which may give an indication of which swicth is the culprit. Or does the interior light come on ?

I woul think that disconnecting the battery will disable the alarm or you could leave it unlocked.....

.....which is what I did with a hire car I had once that was keeping the hotel awake !
