Well as it says above I seem to have developed a loud clicking noise on my aircon/climate control. I have not noticed this noise before but all of a sudden when the aircon is on you can clearly hear it clicking on and off while running.

Does any one else's aircon make this loud click when coming on and off?

Does anyone know what causes it?

Does it just need recharging or could it be something like the compressor?

Any answers greatly appreciated.

Yes, the aircon produces a clicking noise every 20 odd seconds. It's produced by the electromagnetic switch thing. There are more informative threads somewhere on here.

Bottom line: It's normal.

I understand it should be clicking on on off, the problem is surely it should not be possible to hear it while sat in the car. When the bonnet is open it sounds like the clunk you would get tapping a hammer against a piece of metal.

I have it booked in on Monday for looking at, will see what they say.

i sat in sun today with A/C on teaching a pupil with the tdci zetecs claterring away and could clearly hear it...its just the a/c pump working as it should :)
