Fuel injector rail

Featured Replies

Hello friends,

I own a 2015 Ford Fiesta 1 liter ecoboost. Had it for over 2 years now, serviced it yearly etc. It's done around 76k miles.

Recently I had some issues with it. So called RAC to tow it to one of their approved repair garages. They changed:

oil pump and strainer, oil pump driver belt, oil filter, oil. Also timing belt kit. Everything original from Ford.

After 1.5 week I noticed some gasoline smell. I opened bonnet and noticed that fuel is coming threw the fuel injectors, at the bottom of the fuel rail. My question is: in order to change  the timing belt, did they have to remove fuel injector rail or not? If they had to, that's quite coincidence. I read that if you remove injectors you can't put back old sealants etc. And new sealants is not in the invoice (trust me, they don't do anything it for free). Or It could be something else: not tightened, perhaps put wrong.  I'm not a mechanic so it was hard talking to 4 of them and try to spot their mistake. Don't really want to pay for their mistakes.
