Not that I don't love my 3-door body-kitted 1.4 titanium automatic - I do - but if I'd have had the option of a 1.6 6-speed automatic on this side of the pond - I'd have bitten Ford's hand off!!!

Not sure about the gopping colour though. ;)

    Does that mean that the 'powershift' is a DSG too? I've never seen a standard Auto return better economy than the manual.

    Ford PowerShift is indeed just like the wet clutch DSG.

    In a couple of years time when I change my current car - my next car will certainly 100% guaranteed be a DSG version. I only have an automatic licence anyway (due to a disability) so it's an easy choice for me anyway. VW have pioneered the DSG and fit it in all their marques: VW, Seat, Skoda. Even Audi's new A1 has it too - and nearly all have a turbo option on the smaller 1.2 and 1.4 engines.

    And (finally) proof that the new DSG boxes are quicker than a manual too! ;)
