Dead Bluetooth, Aux, Voice

Featured Replies

My wife has a 2010 Titanium whose battery went the other day. We've just been out and noticed that the Bluetooth isn't turning on and the AUX and voice also aren't working.

It looks like a common problem and I've tried swapping fuses and disconnecting the battery but nothing seems to fix the issue.

Does anybody have any other fixes?

Are you saying your battery keeps going flat? If so you need a multimeter to do a proper parasitic draw test. You're just guessing at which circuit is at fault otherwise. This gets really expensive, really fast.

If you say the Bluetooth and aux isn't working, then that would be a faulty bluetooth module which is easily replaced.

The battery had gone flat and despite jumping it, it wasn't holding the charge so we've replaced the battery. However since replacing it, we've been out today and noticed first that the AUX wasn't recognising a USB stick connected, then noticed that the Bluetooth wouldn't turn on and then the voice wasn't working.

This happened to me I did a battery reset

To reset the car You will need to put the vehicle in the on position with the engine off. Turn on the dipped beam. Then press five times on the rear fog light button, next press three times on the hazard button. After that the battery icon on the dash should flash three times.

Ok so I've turned the ignition on, autolamp dial turned to headlamps. Pressed rear fogs three times and hazard three times but the battery light doesn't flash

I've also just tried resetting the Bluetooth module by disconnecting both cables but would a faulty Bluetooth module effect the voice? It doesn't beep when you press the voice button.

He said press 5 times on the fig not 3

Yes, and the USB port.

Sorry yes I did do five times, not sure why I wrote three

Yes it would as the Bluetooth module is also responsible for AUX, USB, and Voice control, on the facelift version of your car it's also responsible for the sync audio system

Ok thanks so sounds like a new module then 😔 Not sure if there is a way of further testing?

You can't really without another module. I suspect jump starting the car may have killed it.

Damn wasn't aware that would but then had no choice. It had been intermittent on recognising the USB so maybe it was a bit flakey.

Are there specific models that I need to look for when getting a new one?

You may also perform a "Master Reset".
1. press the "AUX" button to sync
2. press the "MENU" button
3. scroll to "SYSTEM SETTINGS" and press "ok"
4. use the "SEEK" button to find "ADVANCED" and press "ok"
5. use the "SEEK" button to find "MASTER RESET" and press "ok
6. sync will display "CONFIRM RESET" and press "ok"
SYNC WILL THEN TALK TO YOU WHEN YOU TRY TO CONNECT AND PROVIDE YOU WITH THE 6 DIGIT NUMBER TO PAIR YOUR PHONE, ENTER THIS INTO YOUR PHONE AND YOU WILL BE READY TO TALK ON THE ROAD!

Don't think I have sync and when I press AUX it doesn't do anything.

Further to this, my wife has just been out to her car and the brand new battery is dead.  I did read somewhere that somebody's module went faulty and killed the battery so I'm wondering if that's what has happened in this case and killed the last battery and this new one.

You can't really just guess at the module being dead. Like I said a few weeks ago, you need to do a parasitic draw test to see which circuit is at fault (if any).

yep will be later, but reading other posts on here it does sound a common problem and could explain the problem in the first place. I know the USB was a bit sensitive and sometimes wasn't recognised so maybe that was a sign.

Do you mean the stereo module

The Bluetooth Aux module. Something has drained the new battery quickly, and would explain why the last battery suddenly went. I've left it disconnected for now and see how it performs.

Just thinking maybe because we had issues with the USB drive being detected, that was the start of the issues with the module.
