Rear Brakes on 4000 mile car

Featured Replies

Just noticed rear brake discs are looking scored on both sides, uneven wear I'd say. 2019 Fiesta Active 1 125 pswith 4000 miles on the clock. I'd think 4000 miles should be a bit soon for this to happen, it's not as if I'm heavy braking.  Rear Offside disc is quite scored & can feel it running your finger down it.

It's booked in at the end of the week to be investigated

Any opinions on whats caused it, defective pads or discs or both?

Sorry cant get flickr links to show images though the link below works

I think they just need to see some more use! You'll probably find that driving the car for a bit and using the brakes will remove that surface rust and you wont notice.

Thats just it, it is being driven, it done about 200 miles just before I spotted it, the fact that you can feel the uneven ridges down the discs  make me think its something more. Front bake discs are prefect and smooth. it's not a smooth light film off rust.
