Bonnet not clicking down on mk7 fiesta

The bonnet on my 2010 Fiesta will not click down, it goes in but will not click down , then to need the release catch?.....its always just down requiring the yellow lever to be moved to open the bonnet, any ideas or tips will be gratefully received.

Assuming the latch is not worn out or faulty try dropping it from about 12in. On some models this the Ford recommended method of shutting

Common fault on the older Fiesta, even I had the same problem, the latch isn't moving back fast enough to lock down, I removed my latch mech' and thoroughly cleaned it, then gave it a good dosing of spray grease to all the joints, refitted it, then made sure it was really free in moving, after that everything was greased up, never had issues since.

Thanks i'll give it a go.....worth a try before purchasing another.
