How long do you have left on the refund terms?  I'd give it a couple of weeks just to make sure.

Wouldn't just randomly fit it for the sake of it personally.  As I said before though, turbos on these almost never break!

If the VNT vanes are sooty & sticking, they can be cleaned rather than replacing the whole turbo.

So I took the turbo back and so far it's been working as should. I bought some comma diesel magic (basically an injector/engine cleaner) and have run it through - I'll be putting some BP Ultimate in on Thursday as that's pay day.

How would you recommend cleaning the vanes on the turbo? I know you can buy aerosols - any you'd recommend?

Cheers

I'm sure your old turbo is only playing with you. Give a week or may be two and it will fail again

So far no problems (been over 2 weeks)

Good news 👍

The best way to clean the VNT vanes is to separate the turbo and physically clean them.  Not a 5 minute job of course.

The fuel additive turbo cleaners can't really get to the places they're needed, despite their claims.  If you do want to try any though, I'd go for Wynn's.

Cheers for that - I'll let you know how I get on 👍
