Ford Fiesta zetec dying when pull off from a hill

Featured Replies

I own a Ford Fiesta zetec 65 plate there's been a few times where I've been away to pull off from a hill and my car dies and have to turn the engine off and start it again. Both times this has happened I've been stuck for 5 minutes because my car just won't go and the only way I've eventually managed to get it going is by my handbrake on and my foot hard on the Accelerator and then taking my foot off the clutch.

does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be ?ive put it into the workshop and they've not been able to find any issue??

thanks in advance

The engine cut out or you're stalling it?

The engine is cutting out

Are you a new driver?

It does sound like you're stalling it.  You do need to use a lot more revs on a hill than on the flat.

Also no mention of which engine it is?  If it's a small petrol you will need to give it a lot of revs before lifting the clutch for a hill start.
