Collected my brand new focus active x estate December 2021 upto now I've done 5500 miles and just put my 4th 10ltr tub of adblue in is this normal or is there something seriously wrong with this car

It might be something to do with time travel 😉

But seriously there is something very wrong if you're using that much adblue. My Focus Mk4 2.0 diesel has used only 8 litre in 6000 miles which is about average.

I get about 4000 - 5000 miles to 10lts, so doesn't sound right, unless it down to the type of driving.

Hi Stephen, what is the average MPG that you get ?

My car mostly only does journeys of about 10 miles at a time these days (not good for a diesel, but what can I do?). My average MPG at the moment is 48.2

I do mainly motorway driving 60 miles a day between 70/75mph and only getting 48mpg 

My car is now booked in for the adblue  usage issue

 

Hi, your car does seem to have a problem.

When I do get out and do some motorway driving and often in 'Sport' mode these days, my car manages 57MPG without me trying, and as I said it does 48.2MPG just driving round the doors.

I generally get about 50-55mpg on motorway runs and 43mpg around town.

Only done a few short journeys this week and sitting at 37mpg.🙁

My old mk2.5 Focus 1.6TDCi never goes below 55mpg, I get 65-70mpg on motorway runs. 🙂
