Ford Transit Connect off-roaded, now will not start

Featured Replies

Hello

My husbands 2006 Connect has been sitting on our drive for the past 18 months with the battery disconnected.  He wants to get it up and running and has had 2 mechanics out who cannot start it (reconnected battery, used power pack etc) and have said that there is an issue with the immobiliser.  One said that there should be a unit inside the van (near the glovebox?) for the immobiliser that is missing?  He's tried an immobiliser specialist but he "doesn't do vans".  I've always found these forums really helpful so thought I would try here, any thoughts please?  Thanks so much...

Seems you're referring to a used van. if this is the case you'll need to have the dealership reprogram the system IF you have a keyless entry setup. Plus the FOB battery could be weak and needs to be changed. In our case and even though we purchased new, the included FOB was rusted inside so the dealership had to get us a new one. As for the fuse box locate behind the glove box, One would need to check the fuses as to see if anything have blown. otherwise this is a dealership reprograming issue.
