69 Plate Diesel Fiesta Spanner Light

Featured Replies

I have a 69 plate diesel Fiesta 1.5 that is asking me for an oil change at just over 5000 miles; is this normal or a by-product of me using it for a lot of slow town driving?

Secondly, three days after the 'change engine oil' notice started coming up I now also have the yellow spanner icon illuminated on my dash telling me to 'refer to manual'. My manual is vague and Ford are totally unhelpful - does the spanner just mean my engine oil is due a change/service interval light or does it indicate a totally seperate problem that requires investigation?

Many thanks in advance

Gone are the days when cars had oil changes set in stone of every 6000, 10000 or what ever miles. These days there is black magic involved with the cars computer deciding when it feels the need for you to spend money.

Your car propably does just want a service, nothing major just oil and filters and it will be happy again
