Here's a strange one

Featured Replies

Have had a problem with the amber engine warning light coming on, took the car to my local garage, very good guy, he plugged into his diagnostic & found the fault code for oxygen sensor on cat, he fitted a new sensor bank 1 sensor 2, cleared it & that was fine, it came back on after about 200 miles so took it back he cleared the fault code again & was fine for another 150 miles, yesterday it came back on, annoying to say the least, then I got to thinking that the times that the warning light has come on it has been after I used the car wash, could it be a static build up caused by the brush action of the car wash? I know it may sound mad but it surely cannot be coincidence that every time I use the same brush carwash the light comes on...🤔

The car runs fine with no performance issues at all, as I say a strange one...:)

I’m inclined to think it’s more likely a water/damp issue if you’re leaning towards that external influence direction.  Just thinking that static is usually very short lived when there’s water about, it being a good earthling agent and all that.

Yes, you could be right, certainly something to do with the car wash, three times used & three times engine management light comes on...🤔
