Hi there, I have just purchased a 2016 Fiesta Zetec S for my daughter, the radio, sat nav etc all seem to work fine but the display has the left hand 3rd missing. Is this a common fault? Is it repairable or a new unit required? Thanks for any advice.

Whenever I've seen faults, it's usually the whole screen has stopped working.

They're pretty uneconomical to repair, easier to just get a new screen. Unfortunately the satnav portion of the stereo is built into the screen itself, so will be more expensive than a regular screen. Most eBay sellers tend not to sell just the screen, so you end up having to buy a whole new head unit and fascia for around £200. The screens themselves were around £100 last time I tried looking.

Having said all this, if you've bought it from a dealer within the last 28 days, this is their problem, not yours

Thanks Luke, it was a private sale from a relative, car has been sitting for 7 months unused and I was offered it at the right price. They had no idea the screen was faulty and to be honest it has work a couple of times. Do you know if the screen and head unit are paired?
