Transit MK6 Please help!

Featured Replies

hi, i have a bit of a puzzling problem with my van. its a 2005 hightop 2.4 diesel duratorq with 130000 on it.
it ran beautiflly for the first few months that i had it, then one day i parked up outside the shop and was in there for 5/10 mins, when i came out it turned over but would not even try to start.
called the RAC and did his best but couldnt get to the bottom of it so had to tow me home in the end, when he sprayed easystart in through the airbox it started so it seems to be a fuel issue.
when i got it home i went through every fuse and they are all fine, pulled apart every connector that i could fine and cleaned them up (they were all clean anyway and had a coating of white grease) i pulled the ECU out and cleaned out the connector and ensured it was dry as a bone.
when i turn the ignition on the coil light flashes intermitantly, like morse code lol, i will try and attach a video - it is solid on for a few seconds then off and the same again twice more, then flashes once but quicker then twice in quick succession then the cycle seems to repeat.
i really need to get this sorted out now as the van needs selling and really dont wanna sell it as a non runner :/

any help would be greatly appreciated ive really run out of ideas now :/

here are the fault codes that the RAC emailed me, a hell of a lot considering how well it was running and how suddenly things went wrong !

Is it a di tdci engine. I would check every part of the fuel system starting with easy stuff and then slowly get through the whole system and you should find your fault.. The glow plug light is also the engine management light. The timing chain also runs the fuel injection pump that could be worth checking. Is there any fuel in the lines make sure there's no air in them check the injectors firing. When it runs on easy start does it stay running or does it cut out? Check your fuel filter for water. Might be a silly question how much diesel is in the tank? The workshop manuals are very helpful you can buy them off ebay I did for my mk6 and its way more detail than the Haynes manuals.
