Mondeo Mk4 2.5t Air Con Issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've just tried using air con, and doesn't seam to get cold!   I've got the climate control, and when pressing the AC I get the AC on icon appear but doesn't get cold.   Fans all work, just blows hot air out!   I've ran the diag on the climate control and got an E1 01 error code.  Checked fuse's and wiring, all looks OK.  Using Forscan, I did have a DTCs in HVAC: U2101:00-28 error.  Any ideas where and what to look for?

Thanks

Most likely low on AC gas.  A regas will cost around £60 now (cheaper in winter) and a pressure test will be carried out first.  If the pressure test fails, you have a leak in the AC system which will need further investigation.

Oh dear!  Most common leak is the condenser (radiator) as it only takes a stone flying through the grill at 70mph to pierce it.  So that's where I'd start looking.

I've had two of those, not cheap to fix.
