I have 1, 2 and 3 without any doubt. My Edge is a 2017 Sport almost full optional (only panoramic sunroof and ACC are missing)

I bought the acc switch Ford part 2278290, so I should have everything.

Patiently waiting for your guide 🙂

Papinist,

I have reviewed your posts on the Ford Edge Forum with Andy and myself. The errors you posted all point to the switch working, but the PCM is receiving the wrong data and then it's sending the wrong data to the CCM and other modules.

Could be down to two reasons.

1. Your firmware on the switch is too new for your ECU module firmware. Your CANBus doesn't see the switch correctly because of the version conflicts. ECU updates by Ford should fix.

2. You need to ensure you have an extended license and up to date version of FORScan and go into your PCM settings and ensure they match mine.

Select PCM Module Configuration (NOT AS BUILT)

Change ADJUSTABLE SPEED LIMITER TO WITH ASL, WITH ISA

Change CRUISE CONTROL TO ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

If they don't match, your PCM never accepted the programming and may not have the right version of FORScan. Check PCM as above, then if needed, revert the ABS settings back to original and clear fault codes, then change the ABS back to my settings and try again.

Update. ACC is now fully functional. Issue was a communication protocol issue when talking to the PCM. BIG thanks to the Forscan team for making a custom version for this PCM.   When I

  • For Wesow, The ACC will work on UK Edge's as long as you have anti-collision system fitted as standard. So does the heads-up light up on the dash if you get too close to another vehicle? If yes,

This is not a simple task. Converting to ACC is no Saturday afternoon job. The entire process took me a whole day in the end, but that was after spending hours and hours trying to resolve a hidden ECU

Thanks Daddy Nev for the information and support, I did follow all your steps above and repeated twice but unfortunately I could not get the new switch( 2509773 or DG9T-9E740-GFW) to work , the back light on the switch worked but non the buttons are active. Is there any coding need to be done for the new switch

It seems you are also having the same problems as Papinist.

The coding for the switch change happens under the SCCM. I would do the following when you have enough time.

Check every module that was updated in FORScan and make sure they match mine, especially the PCM. If the PCM doesn't match mine, then data from the switch to cruise control is formatted wrong and that makes the ABS, PCM, CCM and SCCM give errors. Ensure the SCCM is set as ASLD and ACC.

Take off battery for 15 mins and then re-apply battery and test switches again. If no joy try this.

Swap the switch pack back to standard, connect airbag but don't fit it to the wheel. and revert all ECU module changes via FORScan back to originals. Power off car, power up car and check DTC's. Clear any if present and test again. If original switches working again, follow my guide line for line again and re-test. If still not working then the switch firmware is not compatible with the firmware on the ECU modules. Ford can update these for you but you pay for it.

Here is the info of my switch pack that I have installed. IMG_3413.thumb.JPG.b31e945bc52eda5af8813edc9c318b12.JPGIMG_3414.thumb.JPG.95a4ed312cec937889321d5092a81c4e.JPG

My version is different. DG9T-9E740-GF3JA6, but has the same part number 2509773. Maybe a different firmware?

It maybe worth calling Andrew at Vospers Ford (01752 636494, www.parts.vospers.com. or email: [email protected]), give him your VIN and the part number for your switch pack and he should be able to see if its the right version for the ST Line.

I put the old switch back and reset the DTC but still load of faults code Icould not clear, I drove the car today and tested,  to my surprise the adaptive cruise control work fine except I do not have the option to increase or decrease the distance.

ACC system works with the old switch pack, I am doubting the new switch, I noticed deferrence part number from the one printed on the box and the one on the switch.

Thank you for your guide and for reviewing my posts!

Comparing your guide with andy's, in yours there is this entry "ADJUSTABLE SPEED LIMITER TO WITH ASL, WITH ISA" that is not present in andy's guide. So it's an entry that I did not change. Could this be the reason for the switch assembly to not working at all?

I have forscan with extended license (trial), but not a special version if it was made especially for this mod. And of course I did try the mod about one yoear ago, so I used the version available at that time.

Interesting. Sounds like a mis-pick in the factory or dealer maybe? worth calling the supplier and talking to them. ACC distance control will not work on the old switch pack as its controlled via CANBus, so the command from the switch is wrong.

Hi.

You will need all the entries as per my system or it just will not work right or not at all. You also need the paid for full extended license and the most current version of FORScan. Previous to when I did the mods last year, FORScan was not able to write the PCM commands, so your old version would not work. Try again now you have an up to date procedure and get the latest FORScan with a paid for license.

Unfortunately in this moment it's not possible to buy an extended license

March 04, 2022 - Suspending Extended License sales

Due to sanctions against Russian banks and unability to transfer funds, we have to suspend selling Extended Licenses.

However reading the forscan forum someone said that extended trial is the same as extended paid, but only lasts 2 months..

You can do everything on a free licence except download firmware from the database (so you can't perform module updates)

A Ukrainian version of FORScan is to be released soon, same as original but just a bit stubborn and puts up one hell of a fight when trying to reprogramme !! 😉

Okay, try the latest version and get the free trial license for now and see how it goes.

Afternoon all!  I have a 2017 Ford Edge SEL, no collision alert warning, standard cruise control and am thinking of trying to upgrade to adaptive cruise.  I know how to do it on an F-150, but I am curious.  On an Edge, can I add the adaptive cruise module behind the bumper, wire it in, make required changes with Forscan(very familiar with using it), and be able to have Adaptive cruise(without having the collision alert light on the dash)?

I read through the forum here and the information and knowledge you all have is awesome! 🙂 So thought I would ask if anyones done that, before I start digging in myself haha

Pretty much, yes. I'm sure you'll need a camera though

This worked for me and went relatively smoothly. Getting the airbag out was a bit of a challenge, and I initially got some error codes from the new switch pack, but they cleared after I changed all of the settings in Forscan. I'm astounded that I've now got adaptive cruise control in my Edge - thanks Daddy Nev!

Sorry for jumping onto this but do you know where to input the part number of the switch? I’m assuming asbuilt data in SCCM?
I have got to the same point where everything works except the switch for adjusting distance control.
