Heater (window) related drone noise just after ignition - motors?

Featured Replies

Looking to buy an 18 plate 1.0 eco boost but the one looked at was fine apart from a strange brief droning noise on ignition - narrowed down to a window heater as when switched off no noise - same sort of discharging drone noise for a few seconds after switch off - the dealers tech said it was the motors starting up and switching off & was ‘typical’.

Never had a Ford before so would like to ask if this is normal on this Fiesta/model please - car/engine ok otherwise.

Thanks for any information.

Depends how loud the noise is. Yes it is normal for the heater vent motors to open/close when the ignition is turned on or off. I would have thought the noise from the fuel pump whoul have been more noticeable.

cheers for the reply mate - yeah it’s noticeable/audible for about 2/3 seconds at switch on/off
