Mk7 bonnet alignment close to headlight on one side

Featured Replies

Hi all

noticed on my fiesta mk7 the other day that the bonnet sits close to the headlight on one side tried moving the headlight however didn’t help. Also tried moving the actual bonnet and that didn’t help either. The bonnet shut lines are fine so I don’t think it’s massively out of whack if it even is at all. Might be a common thing I don’t know as I’ve seen it on a few others. Enclosed some photos if anybody’s got any clues

Odd that! Is the bonnet genuine ? Had the bonnet bolts been removed, showing paint cracking by a spanner ?

I've seen it before, and was pretty fiddly to fix. Pretty sure we took a Dremel to the inner most headlight bolt hole and elongated it in the end.

I think it usually happens after a front end shunt where just the bumper has been replaced. Perhaps the bonnet gets buckled slightly.

Is there any way to tell if the bonnet is genuine ?

The non-genuine ones shouldn't have a Ford label pressed into the metalwork underneath.

Many thanks for that, have you any idea where it might be located to save me some time 😂

The ford stamping can be in many places, I've no idea under the bonnet but it could be under the sound proofing.

I've looked on our Fiesta for comparison and it looks all even, I've my suspicion that car has been in a front end crash.
