Ford Focus Back Dash Wiring Loom NIGHTMARE!!!

Featured Replies

I'm at the point of scrapping my car...! Rodents have eaten part of my back dash wiring loom - I have searched high and low for the correct wiring loom - part no. 8m5t-14401-zdd for 2009 Focus petrol auto. It seems that this loom is rarer than the Holy Grail. The loom had shorted and melted in numerous places. I tried replacing parts of the loom but it was just too damaged. I have replaced the loom with a 2009 - 2011 loom from an RS Mk 2 - Part no.8m5t-14401-ZMD. Now I must stress that I know very little about electrics but learning fast!!! So the RS loom was from a keyless car, which I think I've sorted. when I try to start the car the immobilizer light starts to flash quickly, then giving a 1-1 code. followed by a beep and three malfunctions - engine, Transmission & Steering.  My hazard lights work along with interior lights, main/low beam, central locking and Horn. I've sent my ECU off to be looked at, which has no faults reported. My next plan is sending the instrument cluster off to be checked. I have checked all fuses, relays which are fine. Now I have checked my OBD which wont connect to a reader. Using a multimeter on the 14 and 6 pins I'm not getting 60hms, but I don't no what this means. Is there a short/earth problem? Any help would be really REALLY appreciated.

Thanks!!!!
