fiesta mk6 1.25 electric wing mirrors. (2006)

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been on before but here goes. just purchased a 2006 mk6 1.25 fiesta(the new facelift model l believe) very happy with it except for the wing mirrors, l have power to it, the glass heats up when l have the rear window heater on but nothing else. I purchased a new switch ,replaced a new fuse(checked with multimeter to make sure it is good) but nothing, does anyone know if there is a relay or something else l could look for (can live without it, but would be nice to get it right) I,m pushing 71  so an easy fix would be great.

thanks all.

So they heat up but the mirror glass doesn’t adjust electronically?

More info needed.  Do they not fold, or as Andy asks, do they not tilt/turn to adjust the view ?

Fuse 8/7.5A is for mirror adjustment, fed off battery, so not ignition controlled. Fuse 26/20A for HRW and heated mirrors.  No relay for mirror movement, relay for HRW/mirrors is in GEM I believe.

Hi, the mirrors do nothing except warm up when the screen heater is on, the mirrors do not adjust in any way, purchased a new electric switch just in case the old one was faulty, but no luck.

If Fuse 8 is Ok, then is the 12V getting to the switch ?

It might be worth disconnecting the plug in the A post door shut, and checking the contacts, then reconnecting, making sure it is fully done up.
