Featured Replies

After a jouney through Wales and went up a track and grounded the bottom and heard a bit of a noise, I checked the car and went on my way after finding nothing but when I went to fill my windowscreen washer up and found a protruding wire sticking up from the engine which i hadn`t noticed before. I have been told by one person that it`s oxygen wire (white) and then by another that it was just spare, the wire goes behind the heat panel behind the turbo. Ps...how do you also get the fuses out with the fuse tool?. Thanks

Both front oxygen senors are ok and no warning lights have come on.

If it's a black braid with two white wires then on mine it's plugged into a connector on a loom just above the gearbox. Can't easily see where it goes from there. Here's a picture of it in place. I have a 1.0 ecoboost 140 made in 2016

I can confirm black braided with white wire you can just see the white wires on the pic, the other end is coming off a loom as Matt has said

As I have a aftermarket air filter here is a another pic of the location on the loom

Good photos Kenny and it looks the same on my car. I've not tried to see where the loom goes from there.

Have you recently purchased the car? as it could have been disconnected by previous owner to hide a fault somewhere.

Had it for 4 years, brought it from Roadrange and its in good nick. I`ve only seen this recently whilst checking the oil, windscreen wash, brake fluid. Its just that on a trip I went up road in North Wales in the back of beyond and ended up on a farm path (No, it wasn`t Hammond`s nor Clarkson`s)🤣 and going along it I heard quite a big noise underneath as  if I had gone over something and I don`t know if I have caught any wires underneath and ripped any out for this to pop up. I did have a look and can not see anything, thanks for the replies and info and I`ll  another look. Cheers.

Remove the air box pipe  and push the water pipe over to the right you should then see the loom sitting on the gearbox

Update...just got the car back from the garage and the wire has been checked and I have been informed that it`s an extra wire meaning if I added anything to the car then this could be used(must of come loose after the service I had recently done) and my radiator fan is now working (wrong codes) which have now been reset and all is well for now. I`m now thinking of getting a code checker as this cost me £54 to get done even though I was happy with the service I got, I did ask why that had happened and they didn`t have a clue but I noticed I was having trouble with a USB stick before this began which has a cracked connector and after pluging it in sometimes dosen`t work so I`m thinking this may of cause a short. Anyway I will just get a new USB and see how that goes.

Now that is done has anybody got the winning lottery numbers for tonight.😆

glad its sorted 💪
