This is my mum's garage door, it slides open horizontally, quite unusual.

It slides on a guide rail channeled into the ground (and hangs from runners on top)

Now, what is this type of 'bolt' called? It is spring loaded so it is forced into the channel but I don't even know how to look for a potential replacement as I don't know what to search for!

    I think it's a roller spindle..

    Not 100% sure on that though.

    Screwfix sell them, they are roller spindles as @Marty... said. Is it a Henderson door? They have their own parts page which you can find on Google. I replaced my grandads with him many years ago.

    I couldn't see a 'brand' plaque anywhere on it, but I'll check again on Monday, it is such lovely quality, a real heavy duty wooden door, I'd love it!
