Brake fluid warning

Featured Replies

My 2014 focus st keeps giving me a brake fluid low warning. I’ve checked both fluid and pads and both are fine, is there anything else that could be giving me warning?

thanks

Is it a text warning or just the red light?

Text warning and warning light, the handbrakes light also comes on. it comes and goes at random, sometimes I can drive for an hour without it coming on, others it can be every 5 mins

I reckon it's just a faulty sensor if the level is fine.

Seems a bit odd for that to happen if the fluid level is fine because that sort of behaviour sounds like you're running close to/just a tad under minimum brake fluid.

Silly question, but are you absolutely sure your fluid level is fine? Have you had a good, proper look at it? Is there any fluid collecting on the floor under your car at all?

If it definitely is fine, well, I'd have to echo that it's likely a faulty sensor.
