hi all i have done many oil changes over the years always struggled to remove filter

i have just done oil and filter change on my 2013 fiesta i even bought a strap wrench which just folded up under the pressure

So once again screwdriver through filter required a lot of effort to remove my question is what size do the fluted end of cap do i need for future  oil changes

Don't know the size but the one I bought for my audi tt fits my daughters fiesta mk 7 1.4, it also fits my merc 350 slk filter. Best £15 I spent in a while.

It may be worth considering ***** the filter up by hand, and not overly tight so it comes off by hand. Just checked mine, 14 flutes and approx 73 -75 mm AF.

Just ran the calliper over it, 74.49 mm AF.

I have an old chain wrench - it actually came free with a 5ltr Castrol GTX when I was a youth running a Mk3 Escort, and I still find that works really well on oil filters. As Drone said, I only ever hand tighten them on so once I've done an oil change its easier.

I'll have to do the Fiesta eco boost soon, had it a year now. Just waiting for the school hols so not as busy minding granddaughters then I'll do the Skoda vRS and the Fiesta.

thanks the last time it was done it was by local ford dealer at the cost of£129 for just oil and filter so the mechanic was responsible i have only tighten by hand but the tool will come in handy in future its on order ill let you know if it fits ok
