2010 ford transit loss of power then cut out

Hi all im thinking of buying a 2010 ford transit 2.2 it has a fault that im trying to figure out..

it was described to me as 

“ i was driving it and it started making a ticking noise and was lacking power so i pulled into the services and it just stalled and wouldn't start again...recovery came out and said it could be a injector gone”

 

Would a dodgy injector stop the van starting or would it not just make the van run like crap but still start?

does anyone have any rough ideas as to what i could Check..
