Wireless Key question

Featured Replies

Hi, I’m new to this forum, hoping someone can help me. I really just need some advice. I have a 65 Plate Fiesta I bought back in March and haven’t really had time until now to start looking into a wireless fobs, as the car was sold to me with a single, non wireless key. I’m not in touch with the seller anymore so I can’t ask him about it.

I’ve been looking online to find out how to get one, reprogram, etc. but information is very scarce as far as I can see for the later models (all I’ve found is up to 2012)

I’ve seen shells on Amazon without any interior components that claim to be the correct size for all Fords, yet reviews are mixed with positive and negatives. Can anyone direct me to any sort of info regarding where I can find somewhere that can advise me? Thanks very much

I also want to note that my car is a 1.25L Ford Fiesta Studio, not a Zetec, if that makes a difference for anyone in terms of research/knowledge

thank you!

Does your car have remote central locking? If not then you won’t need a wireless key.

First thing i'd do is get a 2nd "normal" key if you lose the one you have it will be a nightmare to get a new one!

Well taking a major leap in to the unknown is never a good thing especially if you are not fully up to speed with using ForScan.

For about £70 to £90 you can get an Auto Locksmith to come out to you, supply you with a keyfob (including the metal key blade) and programme it up. This is of course providing your car has remote central locking.
