Android Auto keeps cutting out

Featured Replies

Hi all, I was wondering if someone has experienced the same as me.

I've got a new Ford Fiesta 70 Reg St-Line.

From getting it brand new, i've been having problems with Android Auto randomly cutting out. Whenever I plug it in, it recognises the phone, brings up the AA screen but then cuts out.

Time for AA to cut out varies, the shortest amount of time has been like 5 seconds and the longest like 5 mins.

I've had the car into Ford Garages to install the latest software for Ford Sync, but even after that, it doesn't seem to want to stay connected. I've tried multiple cables and had no luck.

My phone is a Samsung S20 Plus 5G. Just cant see why these issues would be happening with it being a new car and the latest version of Ford Sync installed on the car.

Anyone able to help?

All I can say is (And I don't want to start an Android/Apple debate) I hear lots of people have trouble with AA whilst Carplay is flawless.

You say you have tried different leads, but have you tried a decent/genuine lead?

I you don't have another phone, try a different USB cable, to see if that makes a difference.

I had mine disconnect a few times for no apparent reason but since I got a new cable it's been fine.

The old cable works fine on my PC but if I use it for the car I get problems again.

So worth trying another cable first.

Yeah buddy, i've bought belkin etc. Even tried my mothers samsung cable she has with her phone (USB-A to USB-C). Main reason I used my mothers cable was because the cable that comes with the Samsung S20 Plus is USB-C to USB-C

Which cable did you purchase, do you have a link to it? Thanks
