Hi all , just purchased a mk7 1.4 to replace out mk6.5 1.4 but it sounds and feels different from out 6.5 version

It doesn't sound the same or rev as quickly as our old one despite the dealer saying its the same engine 

I understand its a heavier car but it's just lost that fun factor that the old.one had 

Am I missing something?

My old one was standard zetec spec original airbox mounted on top of the duratec engine whereas the 7 is mounted behind the headlight and alot smaller 

Which is the only difference I can.see but it was sold as the 96horse over our old 78horse unit so was guessing it would be the same 

Any one can explain why its different and what can I do.if anything to get the sound and response back that the 6.5 had

Strangling emissions standards

Understand that emmisions have to get better but it's so much different from the mk6.5 but that did pop when you coast down in gears ,had someone done something to my old fiesta to do that ?

Which could be what I'm missing in the newer one
