MK2 focus 1.6 Ti Vct Lambda sensor Bank 1 sensor 2

Featured Replies

Hi I have has a good look around to see if this existed anywhere but it seems it does not.

I need to replace my O2 (lambda) sensor on bank 1 sensor 2 (post cat) which on my car is a real pain as there are 2 cats side by side and I can barely see the sensor I need to replace and there is little to no access to get to it.

Has anyone done this job before, of so any tips or tricks on just getting the thing out?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi Cewren - I think I'm in the same boat, albeit with a Mk3 (2012) Focus.  I haven't got under the car to look, but I expect it looks like in the image below (with the postcat / "sensor 2" sensors being the ones on the left), which means two problems:

1) How do I know which side is bank 1 or 2?

2) How on earth can I access the post cat sensors - get under the car and somehow blindly reach up and around the cat the get at the sensor?

How did you deal with your issue?
