Lower ball joint position

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a 2007 fiesta zetec s and about 6 months ago I replaced both Lower control arms.

I had a look around my car today and noticed that the cobtrom arm ball joint on the drivers side looks like it's not sitting flush compared too the other side. I have taken it out and put it back in and afyer driving around it returns and rests at that position. The bolt is holding it in tightly and it doesn't move at all. The control arm is an SKF one.

Like I said it has been like this for 6 months and hasn't popped out or anything, does this look alright?

Cheers for any help

Looks to me like it's just the dust cover that's moved rather than the ball joint itself.

Yeah I thought that aswell, didn't want it too pop out and cause all kinds of trouble but it has been in there for 6 months and hasn't moved and I have been over some pretty rough roads. Do you reckon I have absolutely nothing too be concerned about? Hate stuff like this because it's always on my mind when I'm driving 😂

While we are still on the topic of suspension, my car gets pushed around by the wind on the motorway and the front feels like it's swaying. I have replaced pretty much everything suspension related apart from the anti roll bar bushes. Would these be causing the issue? Or is it a normal trait for a fiesta too get pushed around at high speeds on rough roads and with wind?

Cheers
