ford fusion throttle lag,

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2003 Fusion 1.4 petrol model, while driving the throttle seems to have a lag on release, as in it doesn't shut off right away, I have replaced the throttle body and peddle with new units, tried a reset ,with the battery disconnected and leads shorted across and left overnight all to no avail ,

I also note that if I dip the clutch while driving the revs stay around 1200 while in motion and then drop to around 750 when stopped

Has anyone come across this problem and is there a fix with out having to take it to a dealer,

Cheers Mike,

Have you checked the Clutch and brake switches ?  There is also a power steering pressure switch that also ups the revs.

Hi Paul, I found that the clutch  position switch was in two pieces when I looked,

I have one ordered and hopefully that will sort the problem ,

Many thanks for your reply, and info,  Regards , Mike,
