Aux Setting Crackles

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have searched high and low for an answer to this but to no avail.

In the last few weeks, when on the AUX setting (where you flick between USB, BT Audio and Line-in) there has been a crackling noise coming from the front right speaker. When volume is on 0 there is nothing, but obviously gets louder as volume goes up (even when nothing is playing or connected).

All other functions work fine such as radio, CD phone etc, with this noise only coming through the front right on the Aux button. When fade is moved entirely to the left, there is no noise

I've tried updating SYNC, and resetting the fuses but nothing has worked so far.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had this happen to me and found it to be the Aux cable when I wiggled it about you can hear it crackle. New aux cord (more expensive one) later and problem solved but that’s just my experience.

Cheers, it’s not even when anything is connected, it’s more the channel that constantly crackles through one speaker.

So it makes the noise when the Aux cable isn’t in the car?

Try a "Tiny" squirt of WD40 or Switch contact cleaner in the AUX socket and work the plug in and out a half dozen times. Dirt build up in the socket can cause noise problems on the AUX even when not been used.

Yeah, it’s purely on the channel you get when you press the AUX button to switch between Bluetooth and USB even when nothing connected. Can still hear it when music is playing. Goes completely when you fade speakers to the left, so it’s purely related to right front. No crackling on radio.

Hi, I'm dealing with the same problem here. Did you find a solution? Thanks.
