Hi everyone. I bought a used 09 Fiesta as my first car back in April and have been quite satisfied. One issue that remains is with the indicator stalk. I noticed that if you push on it lightly it will flash only three times but will keep on flashing if you push all the way up or down, I presume this is how it should operate normally.

However, in my car, if you push it ever so slightly to the right, the stalk stays shifted to the right and the right indicator will not stop flashing despite not being pushed all the way. I also noticed that the click sounds very sharp almost like something's broken. All this makes it unbearably difficult to flash or turn on my beams without accidentally indicating right, sometimes it is also triggered by going over a bump in the road. 

Is this just how it usually is on these models or should I be able to fix these issues if I replace the stalk? Asking since I don't want to order and change the stalk without making any difference. Any advice would be appreciated.

I had almost the same problem with a previous car and I just fitted a new stalk unit to fix it. Mine kept indicating either right or left (I can't remember which) with the very slightest of touch on the stalk. I had a temporary elastic band around the stalk to stop it happening as the new stalk took a couple of days to arrive.
