ford fiesta mk7 handbrake issues

Featured Replies

mk7 fiesta 1.6 TDCI 2009

hi my god parent tried to remove hand brake cover where button is but couldn't so sawn it off to adjust handbrake which he as now done. Since doing that he has noticed the button has split at bottom and a bit has broke off so some missing thread, since doing that and taking button off he has tried to put the button back on but handbrake won't click he can get it to lock but slips again. If we fit a new button where should the rod fit when we put it back and how far should we screw the new button on

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I find that very difficult to understand with no punctuation. It’s not clear to me exactly what has happened here.

He is saying the broken button on his handbrake needs replacing. He is asking "If we fit a new button where should the rod fit when we put it back and how far should we screw the new button on".

Here's how some guy did it:
