Powertrain light

Featured Replies

Hello, as I was driving today on the highway, I was going around 150kmh uphill, then my 2010, 1,4 tdci Fiesta suddenly lost power and the powertraing light came on. I stopped on the side of the road and re-started the engine, the light did not turn back on and I continued my journey. What could cause this? I plan to take my car to a registered service station to rin diagonstics, but the car seems to be fine. What should I expect? Thank you for your help.

I have the same problem with my 2.0 bi turbo Mondeo ford main dealer clueless, any joy on problem solutions?

It needs a fault code reader connecting. When mine was going into limp mode (reduced power, 3000rpm max, warning light on) now and then when accelerating, fault code reader said low fuel pressure so I replaced fuel filter which cured it. I’m not saying your fault will be the same, but it shows that a fault code reader can point you in the right direction.

.

I've had fuel filter replaced only last week next step is a fuel sensor to be replaced, my issue is when accelerating hard the car loses all power I have to free wheel over to side of road and restart engine??

Hi Iantt - did yours cut out?

mine 2.0tdci has now 3 times on motorway ‘died’ leaving me to coast to hard shoulder. Lucky motorway was clear every time.

I also get the spanner sign and see service manual

total loss of power. Shut down and restarted car and then worked fine.

very odd but obviously dangerous in wrong setting

Hi yes mine is very same as that did you solve issue, I was told today it's possibly the high pressure pump but I'd rather know for certain before forking out for that

OP obviously has his own powertrain fault, like responding to all the kind replies 😞
