I have a Ford Fiesta MK7 that has started making a siren noise when engaging the parking sensors (happens if I put the car into reverse or press the button near the gear stick to turn the sensors on).

I’ve looked at various threads which state what the problem is if it beeps afterwards but all I get is a siren noise.

Can someone tell me what the siren on its own means?

I'm not sure why you press the button to turn the sensors on - The sensors always default to "On" when ever you put the car in reverse. The button is only there to turn the sensors Off.

Have you always had this problem or is this something new thats just happened ?

The problem only happened today.

Tried changing the fuse to no avail and also disconnecting and reconnecting the cables to the parking module in the boot but it still keeps doing it.

Hi Joanne, this seems to be a Fiesta Mk7 fault. From what little infromation there is on the problem it seems that if you get the siren but no beeps then the PAM is faulty.

When you put the car in reverse and its making the siren noise does the 'On' light flash on the switch ?

In answer to your question the ‘on’ light on the switch for the sensors does flash when the car is put in reverse (it keeps flashing until the car is turned off).
