Replacing battery on 2013 stop start fiesta

Featured Replies

I need to replace the battery on my 2013 fiesta eco boost with stop start, what problems will I encounter.

You'll need to reset the BMS, it's dead easy.

Ignition on, side lights on, press rear fog light button 5 times, press hazard button 3 times. The battery light on the instrument cluster should flash after a few seconds. Job done

Hi

The price of the battery will probably be about double what a standard battery costs. I had a new battery same as you and it cost £160 fitted.

Hope this helps

My friends battery battery was tatered after just 6 months from new, ford replaced it, but just recently he's had to renew it at his own cost....£200 🤥

Quite simply, they're both absolute rip off prices.

From a quick search I found Halfords EFB for £111 (with a 5 year guarantee). Infact, you can get a Bosch S4E for less than £100 delivered (with a 4 year guarantee)!

What battery to buy? How long do you think you might keep the car? I wouldn’t spend loads on an expensive battery unless I plan to keep it a long time. When I drive I disable the stop start so that might make me think I don’t need a ‘special’ (expensive) battery designed for stop start. Mines 6 years old so maybe a decision I need to make soon. My previous fiesta was owned by me the passed on to another family member, that battery was over 10 years old when died. 1.6tdci non-stop start.

Hi, changed mine last month, just went on tanya website, put car reg into search ,went

for bosch 100 EFB, less than £100 delivered !, came very quick, and easy job to fit,

did the battery reset , as shown on forum, now stop/start working a treat. happy days!!!
